We, at Kasper Consulting, are a group of professionals who offer our expertise to you from our real-life experiences of working as CIOs, CTOs, Function Heads, etc. in companies such as yours. We do Information Technology (IT) Consulting and Business Process Consulting. We go a step beyond Advisory Consulting and also focus on Execution Management to ensure successful implementation of the projects end-to-end across your organization. Our company was founded in 2009

Our company was founded by Amit Kumar in 2009. Amit has over 30 years of IT and Operations experience mainly in the Banking, Healthcare, Financial Services and Insurance industries in various countries. He was Group Chief Information Officer for Max New York Life and Max Healthcare where he defined and managed the IT strategy for the two companies. He helped create a technology infrastructure that enabled business to grow at 70-90% year-on-year enforcing as many as 130,000 insurance policies in peak month, supporting 200 branches and 30,000 agent advisors. Amit led the project for selection and implementation of the policy administration system for Max New York Life that included a complex migration of policy data from the old IT Application to the new IT Application (Ingenium from EDS-Solcorp). Some of the Core systems that were developed under his leadership were selected for implementation at New York Life International in Asia. Additionally, he also implemented the first of its kind Agency Portal for allowing agent advisors to directly obtain the information they needed to service their clients.

Amit has also served as the Regional Chief Information Officer, South East Asia, Citifinancial (erstwhile Avco Financial Services and then Associates India Financial Services) where he was responsible for Information Technology for the countries in South East Asia. He also managed Processing (Operations) for India and is instrumental for setting up of the high volume processing unit that processed over 30,000 loan applications a month disbursing over 20,000 loans a month amounting to about US$20 Million. He implemented an integrated web-based consumer finance system in Philippines which was then rolled out to other countries. With a constant focus on process improvement, he helped develop processes that gave the company the fastest turnaround times in the industry along with excellent customer service.

As Vice President, Citibank N.A., Amit headed the Processes Reengineering and Electronic Banking Units. He was responsible for process automation, reengineering and centralization of processes, electronic banking, Trade Engine and other technology initiatives at the bank. Amit led several large software implementations at Citibank such as Integrated Retail Branch Banking System, the Credit Card System and the Corporate Banking System. Other implementations that were led by him were Security Management System, Integrated Consumer Credit System, Central Liability System, Computer Aided Collection System and Point of Sale Terminal System. Amit earned a Bachelor of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India and an MS in Computer Science from University of Kentucky, Lexington, USA.

We are proud of having helped several of our clients transform their Operations and IT to make it an enabler for their company’s growth. As examples,

We prepared the IT Strategy Blueprint for ReligareFinvest Ltd (a financial services company). We helped Religare select their Loan Management System and the Loan Origination System. We have negotiated with the IT vendors on their behalf –both on Commercials and Contractual terms to come up with win-win long term sustaining contracts. We helped in the implementations of their IT Applications – with Project Management, Business Analysts, Data Migration, etc.

For Hamdard (a FMCG company), we did the selection of an IT Application for the automation of their secondary sales function – including helping them with the Commercial and Contractual negotiations with the selected vendor – and then did the Program Management to deploy the secondary sales system at over 150 point of sale locations across the country.

For ILBS (a hospital), we helped strategize the Healthcare IT applications (HIS, EMR/EHR, PACS, Telemedicine, BI, ERP, mobile apps and internet apps), prepared the “to-be” Process Workflows for all the processes of the hospital, prepared the Business Requirements Documents for all the functional areas of the hospital and prepared the RFP Tender document for inviting proposals for the IT Applications.

For Alawaal Bank (Saudi Hollandi Bank), we prepared the Business Requirement Document for their Loan Origination System – we did the system selection for the Loan Origination System – including helping them with the Commercial and Contractual negotiations with the chosen IT vendor. We then did the project management for the deployment of the system.

Another accomplishment at Alawaal Bank was the deployment assessment study that we did for two of their systems – Collections and Payment Services – to determine the root causes for the users not using the systems to their full capability. We prepared theroadmaps for higher adoption of these systems by the users.

For MetLife (an insurance company), we helped prepare the International IT Strategy Blueprint and the e-Servicing Strategy document for their UK & Europe region. The list goes on.

One more thing. We are a product & vendor neutral firm – that is, we do not sell any software or hardware nor provide bespoke software development services. This allows us to have your best interest in mind without any conflict of interest.


What We Do Not Do

We are also clear on what we do not do. We do not sell hardware – we do not sell software – we do not do application software development – we do not provide telecom and data center infrastructure – we are not a recruitment agency!

  1. While we do not sell hardware or software, our team can help evaluate and recommend the hardware/software for you based upon your business needs and even help you with the commercial negotiations with the vendors.
  2. While we do not do application software development, we can evaluate and recommend third party resources best for your needs – and even help you negotiate turnkey or T&M contracts. Moreover, we will manage your projects for successful implementation using these software development resources.
  3. While we do not provide telecom and data center infrastructure, we will evaluate your infrastructure and give a recommendation based upon your business model and your existing assets. We will help define the service level agreements (SLAs) with your vendors for effective operations.

So, as you can see, we do essentially what we have learnt from our real-life experiences of working as CIO, CTOs, Function Heads, etc.
